Engineer with focus on green transition, sustainable power transmission, and power systems

Want to use your engineering skills to play a part in the green transition?

Do you like solving complex problems? Are you open minded and enjoy working in a diverse and international team? And are you eager to be part of something new and meaningful?

We are expanding and if you can say yes to the above, then you may be just the person we are looking for.

Join Nordic RCC, a fast-developing company determined to make a significant impact in the energy sector to provide a secure and efficient transition to the green, sustainable energy system.

Nordic RCC – supporting security of supply and the green transition

Nordic RCC provides calculations and recommendations to the four Nordic Electricity Transmission System Operators (TSOs): Energinet, Fingrid, Statnett and Svenska Kraftnät. The main aim of the services is to ensure transparency and help the TSOs with operational planning in a rapid changing system with the increase of renewables.

In short: We play an important part of enabling the green transition.

The position will be in the Resilience Team, which is part of the Service Development department working with Outage Planning Coordination (OPC), Short-Term Adequacy (STA), Critical Grid Situation (CGS) and more.

Key responsibilities for the role will be:

  • Become an expert in one or more of the services included in the Resilience team as well as support and ensure their development.
  • Lead as well as join task forces and initiatives within Nordic RCC or TSOs across the Nordics and Europe.
  • Define IT tooling needs from an engineering perspective and work with IT Development to continuously improve tools for operational and analysis purposes.

Depending on the candidate, other elements in the role can be:

  • Provide analytical insights on operational planning scenarios.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Nordic TSOs on operational processes and data exchange.
  • Participate in international development projects with other European TSOs, RCCs and ENTSO-E.
  • Ensure reporting from RCC to TSOs and regulatory authorities.
  • Develop and maintain training programs for existing and new employees.

The list of tasks will develop over time, and you will work together with your leader to structure the role, so it fits your profile and career development.

Open-minded, international mindset and excellence in power system engineering

You hold a MSc degree or equivalent higher education in Electrical Engineering, Sustainable Engineering, Wind Energy or similar, with interest in power systems and electricity markets. You have at least 3 years of relevant work experience in industry or research.

You are structured and can appreciate a fast-paced environment from time to time. On a personal level you are open-minded, team-oriented and take responsibility.

Nordic RCC is an international office, so fluency in spoken and written English is required as well as the motivation for working in an international environment.

An international and flexible working environment

You will join a team of competent, diverse and enthusiastic colleagues. We are currently 22 nationalities with more than 30% women (striving to improve this balance) and all ages. You will also at times work in teams with colleagues from the Nordic TSOs and from all of Europe, either in virtual teams or in meetings within Europe. The position therefore involves some travels.

Our values of fellowship, respect, transparency and curiosity were recently defined by all employees, identifying the way we already work in Nordic RCC. These are the foundation of how we collaborate.

Your daily workplace will be in our newly furnished office premises in Copenhagen Towers, Ørestad. We are offering workplace flexibility to ensure a healthy work-life balance, including the possibility for working from home some of your worktime.
