Senior Developer to support the Green Energy Transition
Are you a senior developer passionate about solving complex challenges in a collaborative environment, and motivated to take on a leading role as Tech Lead within a development team? Do you thrive on building impactful applications and working with cutting-edge technology? If you are looking to make an impact in supporting the green transition of the energy sector across Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark, you might be the person we are looking for.
Join a fast-developing Nordic company and become a part of an agile environment where we develop innovative solutions. Nordic RCC is an important contributor to the green energy transition, supporting the Nordic transmission system operators in ensuring efficient and secure operations of the Nordic electricity power system.
Your role
As a senior developer and Tech Lead in Application Development, you will join a dynamic team of 17 skilled developers. Together, you'll design, develop, and maintain the internal applications powering our current and future business services. If you are curious, learn more about our innovative solutions on the Nordic RCC webpage.
In this role, you’ll go beyond quick fixes, embracing a holistic approach to problem-solving. Collaborating across applications, you'll identify synergies and drive areas of improvements that enhance the effectiveness of our solutions. Working closely with product owners, engineers, architects, and operators, you’ll align technical solutions with user needs for ongoing and upcoming development projects.
Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to work across multiple applications that support interconnected business services, expanding your impact and expertise.
What you'll do
- Lead and Inspire: Take charge as a proactive Senior Developer and Tech Lead, ensuring smooth and efficient software development processes within the team. You will work closely together with various architects and contribute in driving the architecture and technical initiatives.
- Collaborate Across Disciplines: Partner with engineers, IT experts and operators to develop operational applications that support Nordic power systems.
- Design for Clarity: Create user-friendly applications with interfaces that present complex information in clear, understandable ways, working closely with UX Designers and engineers.
- Innovate with Purpose: Transform engineering analyses into practical tools and applications that strengthen operational support and service development.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance existing applications and internal processes with your team.
- Be a Knowledge Hub: Ensure a proper level of documentation for the applications under your responsibility, and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in relevant technologies.
- Mentor Future Talent: Serve as a role model and guide for less experienced developers, fostering growth within the team.
Your skills and expertise
We’re looking for someone with:
- Team Player Attitude: Exceptional collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Innovative Spirit: A proactive and explorative mindset, willing to challenge status quo and elevate the quality of our work.
- Solid Foundation: A degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
- Proven Expertise: Full-stack application development. We are primarily developing in C# for the .NET platform, so previous experience here is a must. Experience as Tech Lead in development teams is also a must.
- Nice to have: Experience working with functional programming, Clean Architecture principles, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes and Scrum processes.
- Energy Sector Knowledge: Familiarity with the power systems domain is a plus, but not required.
If you do not tick all the boxes, but think you could be a good match, don’t hesitate to apply for this position.
