Application Architect to support the Green Energy Transition

Your role
As an Application Architect in Architecture & Technology, you will be part of a dynamic team that includes architects from multiple domains and 8 developers focused on our central components. In this role, you will set the architectural direction across our application landscape in close collaboration with other architects and lead developers across our three development teams. Together, you will define general principles to enhance resilience and scalability across our applications that power our current and future business services.
In this role, you will go beyond quick fixes, embracing a holistic approach to problem-solving. Collaborating across architecture domains and applications, you will drive areas of improvement that enhance the robustness and effectiveness of our application landscape. Working closely with lead developers, architects, product owners, and engineers, you will align technical solutions with user needs for ongoing and upcoming development projects.
What you will do
- Define and drive application architecture strategy: Establish and enforce principles, standards and patterns that support consistency across our application landscape, and ensure alignment across architectural domains
- Drive Sustaining Engineering: Identify general and specific areas of improvement to address technical debt. We aim to set a side about 20% of development hours for these items each sprint
- Collaborate across disciplines: Work closely with architects across domains, lead developers, product owners, and engineers to ensure design decisions are aligned with general architectural principles
- Stay updated on emerging technologies: Continuously research and evaluate new tools, frameworks, and industry trends to ensure technological adaptation that supports the long-term architectural goals

Clean Architecture, SOLID, Event-driven Architecture, API first

Git, Visual Studio, VS Code, Azure DevOps
We’re looking for someone with
- Collaborative Attitude: You will be working closely together with our team of architects, driving architectural decisions for supporting maintainable, scalable and robust systems
- Solid Foundation: A master’s degree in computer science, IT or a related field.
- Proven Expertise: 3-5 years of experience as a Solution or Application Architect and proficiency in C#, .NET, Azure DevOps, and DevOps practices such as CI/CD, IaC and Test Automation.
- Knowledge: and/or experience with integrations- and architecture patterns and paradigms, such as Event-Driven Architecture, Service Oriented Architecture, API Gateway patterns, Domian-Driven Development, and Behavior-Driven Development
- Nice to have: Experience working with functional programming, Kubernetes, Kafka and Scrum processes.
- Energy Sector Knowledge: Familiarity with the power systems domain is a plus but not required.
