Application developer with an interest in the green energy transition

Do you want to help shape the future of Europe’s energy system and contribute to a fully carbon‑neutral, sustainable power grid? Are you a developer who is curious, open-minded, proactive and enjoys working in an explorative and collaborative way? Do you want to work together with engineers, IT experts and data scientists trying to find the secrets hidden in the vast amounts of data related to our services?

We’re looking for an Application developer to join our Analytics & Information Management team at Nordic RCC. If you’re excited about developing analytics and reporting platforms and tools in a dynamic, mission‑driven organization, we encourage you to apply — even if you don’t meet every requirement.

About Nordic RCC

Nordic RCC is a fast-growing company supporting the national Transmission System Operators (TSOs) of Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. We provide regional power system planning data and security analysis to ensure efficient operation of the Nordic power grid and a high level of security of supply—every hour of every day.

The Role

The Analytics & Information Management team plays a central role in enabling data‑driven decision‑making across Nordic RCC. The team develops and maintains analytical products, data pipelines, and information services that support operational, strategic, and regulatory needs.

As an application developer in our Analytics team, you will collaborate with engineers, IT experts and data scientists in developing applications for data science, back-office and operational support. In the role you will be working closely with the rest of the team, being responsible for developing the analytics platform and applications, and ensuring that they are developed in accordance with best practices.

The analytics work is highly explorative and dynamic, and it is therefore important that you have a proactive, open, and innovative mindset, and are not afraid to challenge the status quo and approach issues in a new way. With a combination of skills within application development and visualization, you will play a crucial role in shaping our approach to business challenges and optimizing our processes and data quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fulfil the role of technical owner for the Analytics platform, ensuring stable operation of the platform, including maturing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents

  • In collaboration with the Data architect and Data engineer, maintain and optimize application components, integrations, CI/CD for data applications, and data pipelines that support analytics and reporting workflows

  • Design, together with engineers and data scientists, UI/UX which can communicate large amounts of complex information in a clear and easily understandable way

  • Collaborate with power system engineers and data scientists to develop data analysis and reporting applications for data science, back-office, and operational support

  • Transform data science output into tools and applications that can be used to support the service development and operational organization

  • Work with the team to identify potential improvements to the processes at Nordic RCC

  • Ensure that the back-end of the analytics tools are designed purposefully and according to best practice

  • Provide technical guidance to team members and support knowledge sharing across the analytics organization.

  • Collaborate with IT operations, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.

Key deliveries/outputs

  • Stable, well-maintained Analytics platform, including continuous improvement of platform capabilities to ensure user adoption

  • New analytics and reporting products, including production-ready dashboards, applications, APIs and automation tools that meet user needs

  • High-quality technical documentation and version control in GIT

  • Effective collaboration and support, including clear communication with stakeholders, timely support for analytics users and knowledge-sharing contributions that strengthen the team’s technical maturity

Qualifications

We expect you to bring a experience from similar work, and to demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities in combination with a sense of ownership and accountability. The ideal candidate is comfortable working closely with diverse roles and personalities, is able to explain complex topics in a clear, structured way and is committed to shared team success. Furthermore the ideal candidate is comfortable navigating evolving requirements and a dynamic environment.

Professional qualifications

  • Strong experience in application development using languages commonly applied in analytics environments (Python, C#, Java, etc.)

  • Solid understanding of data engineering concepts, including ETL/ELT processes, data modelling, and data pipeline orchestration

  • Experience with analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, or similar)

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), automated testing, and modern DevOps practices

  • Experience deploying analytics models into production (e.g., refactor scripts into deployed-ready code, APIs, or ML models into production)

  • Kubernetes experience will be a strong plus, since the Analytics platform is in the process of transitioning to this technology

  • Knowledge of power systems and the energy sector is a plus, but not a requirement.

If you’re unsure whether you meet all qualifications, we still encourage you to apply — your experience and perspective may be exactly what we’re looking for.
