Nordic RCC – supporting security of supply and the Green Transition

The Nordic Regional Coordination Centre (RCC) provides critical services and insights to support the national Transmission System Operators (TSOs) in Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark — to ensure the efficient operation and use of the Nordic power system and high security of power supply at any time. Based in Copenhagen, Nordic RCC is one of six RCCs in Europe, equally owned by the Nordic region's four electricity TSOs: Fingrid, Statnet, Svenska Kraftnät, and Energinet.

As European power systems integrate and evolve to meet climate goals, Nordic RCC provides regional coordination, integrated services, regional insights and recommendations to the Nordic TSOs and their control centres, to support cross-border operational security 24/7.

Responsible for software testing and test data creation

As a Student Software Tester responsible for testing and test data creation, you will work closely with other testers in the Quality Management team, and as well as engineers, business expert, test managers and project managers.

Job Description:

We are looking for a Student Software Tester to assist our testing team in ensuring the quality and functionality of our software products. As a Student Tester, you will be responsible for executing test cases, identifying and reporting bugs, preparing test data and providing feedback on the user experience. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in software testing and quality assurance. Expected working hours are between 16-24 hours per week, which will naturally vary with exam periods, vacations etc.

In this role, you will get practical experience with professional software testing, IT quality management processes, collaboration in an international environment, and insight into one of Europe's most important critical infrastructure sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute manual test cases to verify software functionality
  • Identify, record, and track software defects
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure bug fixes and updates are implemented
  • Provide feedback on user experience and usability
  • Assist in creating test documentation and reports
  • Creation and manipulation of test data

Requirements:

  • Current enrolment in a relevant degree program (power system engineering, computer science, information technology or other technical fields) 
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities

Other beneficial qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of software testing concepts and methodologies
  • Previous experience with testing tools and bug tracking systems
