Management Support Role to Service Operations - At the Heart of the Nordic Power System

Are you motivated by supporting highly skilled engineers and contributing to the secure operation of the Nordic power system? Do you thrive in an environment where operational reliability, collaboration, and continuous improvement are essential?

At the Nordic Regional Coordination Centre, in the Service Operations department, you will work closely with a team of engineers delivering critical services to the Nordic Transmission System Operators around the clock. In the role, you will act as a daily sparring partner and facilitator for the engineering team, helping ensure effective coordination between control center duties and development activities outside the operator chair.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the security of supply and the Nordic green energy transition, while supporting the development of engineers working in a highly specialized operational environment.

Nordic RCC – supporting security of supply and the green energy transition

Nordic Regional Coordination Centre (RCC) provides critical services and insights to support the national Transmission System Operators (TSOs) in Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark — to ensure the efficient operation and use of the Nordic power system and high security of power supply at any time.

Based in Copenhagen, Nordic RCC is one of six RCCs in Europe, equally owned by the Nordic region's four electricity TSOs: Fingrid, Statnett, Svenska Kraftnät, and Energinet.

As European power systems integrate and evolve to meet climate goals, Nordic RCC provides regional coordination, integrated services, regional insights and recommendations to the Nordic TSOs and their control centres, to support cross-border operational security 24/7.

Join Nordic RCC, a fast-developing company determined to make a significant impact in the energy sector and to provide for a secure and efficient transition to the green, sustainable energy system.

Right now, we are looking for a management support role who would like to make a difference!

Job description:

You would be supporting an engineering team that works in a hybrid setup, combining:

  • Operator-on-shift roles in the Nordic RCC coordination centre, supporting Nordic TSOs around the clock
  • Work outside the operational shift including projects, operational follow-up, and continuous improvement activities

Your primary focus will be daily coordination, professional sparring, and supporting the development of effective structures and ways of working across the team, supporting and facilitating the performance of these roles.

You will NOT be part of the Operator on-shift roster, who is performing the coordination centre tasks and services 24/7.

The position does not initially include formal personnel management, as the engineers in the setup today report directly to the Head of Department in Service Operations. You will work closely with the Head of Department on topics like department structure and set-up, and by providing day-to-day coordination and operational support, as well as mentoring and sparring on subject matter topics with the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Driving department strategy and development in collaboration with the Head of Department (HoD) supporting effective coordination between coordination centre duties and non-operational activities, both within the team and externally towards other departments
  • Facilitating knowledge sharing, supporting and securing continuous training and collaboration
  • Supporting engineers in their professional development, and acting as a sparring partner, particularly those early in their careers
  • Identifying opportunities to improve structures, processes, and operational workflows
  • Supporting planning, prioritization, and follow-up across shifts, projects, and operational tasks
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of service quality and operational efficiency as well as securing the level of contingency and business continuity
  • The role will include sharing of responsibilities as part of 3rd line support with Head of Department as the department runs 24/7 operational services

Requirements:

You bring experience from a technical or operational environment and enjoy supporting the development and collaboration of highly skilled professionals.

We expect that you:

  • Have experience working in a technical, operational, or knowledge-intensive organization
  • Demonstrate strong ability to mentor, support, and collaborate with technical specialists
  • Have experience identifying and improving structures, processes, and ways of working
  • Are comfortable working in a complex environment with the responsibility of 24/7 operational services
  • Communicate clearly and effectively across technical and organizational boundaries

Additional beneficial competencies include:

  • Experience from the power system, electrical infrastructure, or energy sector
  • Engineering or technical background
  • Experience working in control centre or operational environments
  • Familiarity with organizations delivering 24/7operational services

We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet all the listed requirements.
